A 26-year-old woman was killed at her home in Rescaldina, in the Metropolitan City of Milan, on 11 January 2022, and her body was dismembered. The man convicted of the killing is her former partner, a former bank employee. On 16 September 2026 the Milan appeal assize court sentenced him to life imprisonment for the third time on appeal, in what was the sixth set of proceedings in the case overall. The court again found that the killing was premeditated. The judgment is not final. A further appeal to the Court of Cassation is expected.
