An 85-year-old woman died on 25 November 2025 in the province of Forlì-Cesena while being transported by ambulance. A post-mortem examination found that she had died of an embolism caused by an abnormal flow of air into her bloodstream. On 18 August 2026 the case was sent for immediate trial, and a hearing before the Corte d'Assise in Forlì was set for 15 October 2026. The accused remains subject to precautionary custodial measures. Investigations into five further deaths attributed to him were reported as still open at the time of the cited coverage, and are not part of this record.
