Sommario
Two men, aged 47 and 48, were shot dead on 17 April 2026 outside a Sikh cultural centre in Covo, in the province of Bergamo. A third man was wounded in the same shooting and survived. According to reporting on the investigation, a man arrived at the site by car, approached a group of his compatriots and opened fire. Investigators attribute the ambush to a conflict within the local Sikh community over control and management of the cultural centre. A 29-year-old suspect fled Italy after the shooting and, having hidden in France, was traced to England. He was arrested in Birmingham on 23 July 2026 and is being held in custody in the United Kingdom pending extradition to Italy.
