A 40-year-old man was killed on 8 July 2026 in his flat on the eighth floor of a residential block in Corsico, a comune on the south-western edge of Milan. According to investigators he was strangled with a scarf, which broke his neck, and stabbed six times. A 39-year-old man was detained on suspicion of the killing and is held at San Vittore prison in Milan. Investigators say his genetic profile was found on two knives at the scene and in blood traces in the bathroom, and that a palm print left in blood on a glass door of the flat matched his. The two men had had an intimate relationship, and the killing is alleged to have taken place during a dispute. The suspect had been detained two days earlier after threatening volunteers of a street-aid charity with a knife, and is said to have breached a court-ordered residence ban to reach the victim's home. He has not yet been formally charged.

- incident_date corrected from the article date (2026-07-28) to the actual date of the killing, 2026-07-08, and city corrected from 'milano' to 'corsico', the comune in the Milan metropolitan area where the victim lived and was killed. Victim sex corrected from F to M: the intake clusterer inferred 'uccisa' from feed boilerplate, but ANSA reports a male victim.
