At about 11.20pm on Wednesday 16 September 2026, emergency services were called to Lloyd Baker Street in Clerkenwell, in the London Borough of Islington, after reports of a stabbing. They found a 28-year-old man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries the following day. The Metropolitan Police opened a murder investigation. No arrests had been made at the time of reporting and detectives appealed for information, noting that the victim was found in a residential street and that members of the public might hold material evidence. The victim's next of kin were informed and were being supported by specialist officers. Police were given enhanced stop-and-search powers covering an area stretching from Caledonian Road through Clerkenwell to Hoxton, in force from the Friday afternoon until the following morning.
