A 62-year-old man was fatally shot at an address in Nørresundby, a district of Aalborg, on the afternoon of July 17. Police, responding to reports of a fire, were fired on by the suspect and returned fire; a police officer was also shot and wounded but survived. The following day, a 48-year-old man was charged with the murder and with gross violence against the officer; the attempted-murder charge relating to the officer was later downgraded after the suspect denied intent to kill. At a preliminary court hearing, the suspect said he could not remember the events but confirmed he was at the scene and said he "could not bear any more" and had wanted to take his own life. He was remanded in custody for four weeks.

A 37-year-old man was shot dead in an open street on Nyropsgade in central Copenhagen on the afternoon of 19 October 2023. The gunman, an 18-year-old Swedish national at the time, was disguised as a food-delivery courier, wearing a Just Eat jacket and cap and carrying the pistol in a Wolt thermal bag. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the district court, and on 19 August 2026 the Eastern High Court upheld that sentence, rejecting his account of an economic dispute with the victim as unconvincing. Defence counsel has said it will seek to appeal to the Supreme Court.
