Three men were taken to hospital after a stabbing on the De Ruijterkade, behind Amsterdam Centraal station, on the evening of 29 August 2026. Emergency services were called at about 19:30 and several ambulances and police units attended. Four men were injured in total. One of them was arrested at the scene as a suspect. Police said none of the injured was in a life-threatening condition. Footage circulating on social media shows a man who appears to have been involved in the incident broadcasting a live stream, in which he argues with a group of men and says, among other things, that he is not afraid of six or seven men and that "they are all going to fall". He then lunges at one of the men and stabs him, which police have confirmed. The group then set upon him, punching and kicking him, and one of them appears to stop the camera. The suspect, a 43-year-old man from Naarden, was among the four injured and was himself taken to hospital. He is accused of stabbing three men. He was due to be brought before an examining magistrate on 1 September 2026.
