At lunchtime on Wednesday 9 September 2026 police were called to Sannaskolan, a school in the Majorna district of Göteborg, following a report of a possible threat. Officers arrived quickly and arrested a pupil, a minor, who is suspected of attempted murder. Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder. Pupils said they had seen one pupil chase another with a knife, but police said they could not yet confirm details of what had happened. No injuries have been reported. Police and the school described it as an isolated incident with no general threat against the school. Officers remained on site through the afternoon to question witnesses and to support pupils, parents and staff.
