A man was found dead by the Skärmarbrink metro station in the south of Stockholm on Tuesday 29 September 2026, and three people were detained on suspicion of murder. Police began a large operation at the station on the Tuesday morning. No details were given at the time about what it concerned, though officers stressed there was no danger to the public, and an area of ground nearby was initially cordoned off for investigation. Late in the afternoon police confirmed that a man had been found dead. A large number of witness interviews were held and camera material from the area was being examined. Three adults were arrested under the Swedish pre-charge measure on reasonable suspicion of murder. The prosecutor said she would probably decide the following day whether to apply for their remand in custody, and confirmed only that those held were adults; according to information reported by Dagens Nyheter, they were two men and a woman. No charge had been announced. The alarm is reported to have reached police through the emergency number, but it was not clear whether the caller was a passer-by. The victim's age was not reported.

At lunchtime on Wednesday 9 September 2026 police were called to Sannaskolan, a school in the Majorna district of Göteborg, following a report of a possible threat. Officers arrived quickly and arrested a pupil, a minor, who is suspected of attempted murder. Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder. Police were called to a flat in the Viksäng district of Västerås at about four in the morning on 8 September 2026. They found two men at the address, one of them dead. The other man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. The two men were known to each other. A woman in her 50s was found dead at a home in Värmdö municipality, on an island in the Stockholm archipelago, on the afternoon of Tuesday 4 August 2026. Police were alerted to the address at around 16:30 and were initially reticent about the nature of the call, but confirmed at about 23:00 that a woman had been found dead there. The circumstances of the death led police to open a murder investigation. A prosecutor leading the preliminary inquiry confirmed to public radio that officers are searching for a person of interest in the case. No arrest has been reported. More than a day after the alert, police remained on the island through Wednesday evening. A 26-year-old man was shot dead in Hässelby, in the western part of Stockholm, shortly before 8pm on Friday 24 July 2026.
