A 21-year-old man was wounded with a sharp object in the centre of Thessaloniki on the afternoon of 16 September 2026. He was taken to a hospital in the city by ambulance and was admitted for treatment. The attacker fled the scene. Following a search, officers of the crime prevention and suppression unit of the Thessaloniki crime investigation directorate located and arrested a 16-year-old. Four home-made packages of cannabis with a combined weight of 3.3 grams were found in his possession and seized. A case file was drawn up against the arrested person by the Lefkos Pyrgos crime investigation department for attempted homicide and for offences under the weapons and narcotics laws, and he is to be brought before the competent prosecutor.
